Knowing how to use it calmly and correctly is what makes the difference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The most widely taught method is the <strong>PASS technique<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>P \u2013 Pull<\/strong> the safety pin<br>This breaks the tamper seal and allows the extinguisher to discharge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A \u2013 Aim<\/strong> at the base of the fire<br>Never aim at the flames. The fuel source is what needs to be neutralised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>S \u2013 Squeeze<\/strong> the handle<br>This releases the extinguishing agent under pressure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>S \u2013 Sweep<\/strong> from side to side<br>Move across the base of the fire until it is fully out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Important safety reminders:<br>\u2022 Always keep an exit behind you<br>\u2022 Never fight a fire that is spreading rapidly<br>\u2022 If in doubt, evacuate immediately<br>\u2022 Only use the correct extinguisher for the fire class<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Regular inspections and servicing ensure that when someone pulls that pin, the extinguisher works exactly as expected. A blocked nozzle, low pressure, or expired unit can turn confidence into chaos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Training, signage, and maintenance work together.
